How I Spent My Summer Vacation
It’s 3:04 AM EST, and my parents and I are awake. Now, if everything had gone smoothly, we would be reluctantly rolling out of bed this very moment to start gearing up to get groped at the airport. But, true to tradition, things didn’t even manage to start out smoothly. At about 2:35, I heard an ungodly noise from the front yard. Being that it’s 65 degrees outside but a fucking...

First-Hand Accounts of the Riots in Puno →
My college roommate and best bud is in Puno, Peru right now, where citizens are rioting in the streets. According to Katie, “The basis of the riots is that a Canadian mining company are trying to construct mines in Southern Peru. This will take land and resources from the farmers, and most likely increase their cost of living overall. Hence, the farmers are protesting and rioting.” ...

10 Modern Movies That Are Better in Black & White →
whiteboydanceparty: In his wonderful 1989 essay “Why I Love Black and White,” Roger Ebert wrote: “There are basic aesthetic issues here. Colors have emotional resonance for us… Black and white movies present the deliberate absence of color. This makes them less realistic than color films (for the real world is in color). They are more dreamlike, more pure, composed of shapes and forms...

Waistband Warriors

Assuming that underwear is worn underneath the clothes, the only person who would see the words on the waistband is an intimate partner. I think that the underwear’s waistband should use stronger language.

Cardboard Housing Market
Katie: I'll send you my mailing address when I find out if I'm living in an actual house or a cardboard box.
Me: Cardboard houses should have mail slots. When I committed to my major, I checked out the cardboard housing market.
Me: Of course, the problem with a cardboard-based market is that it collapses every time it rains.

Situation Room
kryanjones: I’m a little skeptical about this whole Osama Bin Laden being dead thing. I mean, do they honestly expect us to believe that this is the White House Situation Room? Everyone knows this is what the Situation Room looks like: Do you think Admiral Fitzwallace would even set foot in the alleged Situation Room above? I don’t.

Post-Collegiate Z-Paw Plans.
I just realized that post-graduation, moving back in with my parents isn’t such a horrible idea, even though everyone says it is. Mom’s a nurse, Dad is trained in potable water treatment, and we have a hunting dog. Come at us, zombie apocalypse.
